A real De Stijl composition editor
This is less a filter and more a small composition tool. It generates a Mondrian-style grid by recursively splitting blocks with a seeded random walk, then hands you the controls to actually edit it: click a block, resize it, recolor it, split it again.
Set the number of blocks and a seed for the base composition, adjust the black line weight, then refine by hand. There's a reference layout to study, and everything exports as clean, editable SVG.
Working the controls
- Set a seed and block count, then regenerate until you like the base grid.
- Click any block to select it, then resize, recolor or split it vertically/horizontally.
- Tune the black line weight and outer margin for the De Stijl look.

FAQ
Can I edit individual blocks, or is it random only?
Both — generate a base with the seed, then click any block to move, resize, recolor or split it. It's a real editor, not just a randomizer.
How do I get the classic primary-color look?
Keep most blocks white with a few bold red, yellow and blue accents and a single black. The generator biases toward that ratio, and you can fine-tune by recoloring blocks.
Is the exported SVG editable?
Yes — each block is a separate rectangle with its stroke, so you can keep tweaking it in Figma or Illustrator after export.
